Pi Network's Core Team will hold its first Pi Ecosystem Summit on November 17-19, with platform releases, developer updates and a new hackathon on the agenda for $PI.

Pi Network promises new releases! @PiCoreTeam has confirmed that the first Pi Ecosystem Summit will include platform releases and developer updates when it takes place on November 17-19. The official blog post says the event will feature new Pi platform features, giving the $PI community something concrete to watch for next month.

What the Pi Ecosystem Summit will cover

According to the announcement, the summit is a three-day online event. FXStreet reported that the Core Team outlined a focus on developer tools, platform updates, app demos, showcases, conversations and its next hackathon, all aimed at expanding Pi's utility.

The Core Team has also said the event will differ from Pi Day and Pi2Day. Those events celebrate progress across the wider Pioneer community and network, while the summit is aimed at developers, the Pi platform and the apps built for Pioneers, as CryptoPotato noted.

The agenda also includes developer demos, app showcases from companies and community developers, and conversations between developers and the Pi Core Team. Details of an all-new hackathon are expected to be shared during the event. The Core Team has not published specifics on what the platform releases will be.

Context: Protocol upgrades and app claims

The summit follows a busy stretch of technical work. Coinpedia reported that the Core Team has scheduled a Protocol 28 Mainnet upgrade to support more advanced smart contracts, including subscriptions, escrow services and NFTs. CoinGape added that the summit could help show how developers plan to use capabilities introduced through recent protocol upgrades, though the team has not confirmed a link between the two.

Pi Network has also said it has more than 300 Mainnet apps. Crypto.news noted that the project has not provided an app-by-app active user count, so the figure says little about actual usage.

On the market side, FXStreet reported that PI was trading around $0.0800 after the announcement, with a bearish technical outlook and a risk of breaking below $0.0774. It also described Pi Network as a slow-moving project with limited real-world utility so far. For holders, the summit offers a chance to see whether new tools translate into live applications and sustained activity.

What do you expect the Core Team to unveil? The $PI community has until mid-November to speculate.
